It Must Have Been Important

Woman, after buying a couple of items: Do you have a cell phone?

Me: A cell phone? (I must have misheard this...)

Woman: Yeah, a cell phone. I need to call my sister.

Me: No, (not for you to use) I'm (not) sorry.

There are at least 4 things wrong with this. Can you find them all? Bonus points are available...

ya, look at them with a straight face and say "no problem. $1 for the first minute, .50 each conseccutive. Just figure it's a markup for your convenience and my trouble"

since when does everyone assume it cost you nothing to lend a cell phone out for a call. How do I know you are not calling Amsterdam or Berlin? Also I don't want your face germs.

Or whatever else germs you may be packing...just ew.

Exactly! At least with a payphone, the phone is intelligent and can figure out if you are calling Latvia and will charge you more. I have no such assurance and do not want to catch your staph infection.

What happened to the good old days when all people asked you for was a smoke or a light?
